La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial del Turismo (OMT) se ha asociado a Sommet Education para lanzar un innovador concurso \u201cHospitality Challenge\u201d, dirigido a impulsar la recuperaci\u00f3n del turismo tras el Covid-19. Se otorgar\u00e1n 30 becas destinadas a cubrir los gastos de distintos programas de educaci\u00f3n superior en instituciones de prestigio mundial, apoyando e impulsando as\u00ed los proyectos y capacidades de los profesionales, start-ups, y emprendedores seleccionados. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En todo el planeta, la pandemia COVID-19 ha paralizado el turismo. Ahora, a medida que el sector reanuda su actividad, esta iniciativa de la OMT y Sommet Education busca identificar ideas y personas capaces de acelerar la recuperaci\u00f3n al tiempo que promueven la inclusi\u00f3n y la sostenibilidad como ejes estrat\u00e9gicos de la industria hotelera del futuro. Los criterios de selecci\u00f3n incluyen el grado de disrupci\u00f3n, la madurez del proyecto, el potencial de implementaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como su viabilidad, escalabilidad, digitalizaci\u00f3n, sostenibilidad y facultad para atraer el inter\u00e9s de inversores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El concurso se centrar\u00e1 en cuatro categor\u00edas diferentes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Viajes de lujo, bienes y servicios <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Hoteles y operaciones hoteleras: Pymes y empresas familiares <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Alimentos y bebidas: restaurantes, catering, servicios de entrega a domicilio y venta minorista <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Smart Real Estate (transformaci\u00f3n digital del sector inmobiliario): propiedades peque\u00f1as y medianas, as\u00ed como negocios familiares <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

El Secretario General de la OMT, Zurab Pololikashvili, constata: \u201cEl sector tur\u00edstico es una fuente de trabajo para millones de personas. Los empleos tur\u00edsticos brindan oportunidades, empoderamiento e igualdad, incluso para mujeres, j\u00f3venes y personas que viven en comunidades rurales. Este momento de reapertura es el momento adecuado para repensar el sector hospitality <\/em>e identificar e implementar nuevas ideas para hacer que sea m\u00e1s inclusivo y sostenible. Y este concurso har\u00e1 exactamente eso\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benoit-Etienne Domenget, Director Ejecutivo de Sommet Education, agrega: \u201cEsta crisis nos presenta la oportunidad de conciliar visiones del mundo, enfrentadas demasiado tiempo, e inventar el hospitality del futuro. Creemos que la educaci\u00f3n es la base y el pilar para crear un mundo m\u00e1s hospitalario. Estas becas representan una contribuci\u00f3n a la recuperaci\u00f3n de la econom\u00eda hotelera y tur\u00edstica, al acelerar el desarrollo de personas con talento y visiones creativas y apoyar nuevos enfoques dirigidos a renovar la industria\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La convocatoria para este concurso \u201cHospitality Challenge\u201d permanecer\u00e1 abierta hasta finales de agosto. Un comit\u00e9 de selecci\u00f3n, formado por una red internacional de inversores, empresarios y expertos, miembros de la OMT, miembros afiliados y aliados estrat\u00e9gicos, as\u00ed como representantes de Sommet Education, elegir\u00e1 a los 30 finalistas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los 30 finalistas podr\u00e1n aplicar a becas completas en 15 programas de educaci\u00f3n superior en los campos de Hospitality Management, y Arte Culinario y Reposter\u00eda (Bachelors, Masters, MBAs) ofrecidos por las reconocidas instituciones acad\u00e9micas de prestigio mundial de Sommet Education: Glion Institute of Higher Education en Suiza y Londres, Les Roches Crans-Montana en Suiza, Les Roches Marbella en Espa\u00f1a y \u00c9cole Ducasse en Francia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre los 30 ganadores, los tres proyectos empresariales m\u00e1s innovadores recibir\u00e1n fondos para apoyar su desarrollo inicial. Estos proyectos ser\u00e1n financiados por Eurazeo, el principal grupo de inversi\u00f3n global del que Sommet Education forma parte. Esto ofrecer\u00e1 a los tres ganadores a\u00fan m\u00e1s oportunidades de \u00e9xito para desarrollar sus proyectos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
